Church life at Seion Chapel consists of much more than meeting together on a Sunday. Apart from the Sunday services, there are a number of different activities that Seion runs during each week. There are two different sorts of ministries we’re involved in, although all that we do is with the desire that the glory would go to God.
‘Matthew 5:16 Activities’
In Matthew 5:16 Jesus gave his followers an instruction; “let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).
At Seion we take this seriously and some of the activities we run or facilitate are geared towards the church showing the love of God by being a blessing and help to our local community in practical ways.
‘Matthew 28:19 Activities’
Before he ascended into heaven Jesus gave his followers another command; “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20).
Again, in Seion we take this command very seriously and many of our activities are geared directly towards making disciples. We teach the Bible so that those who don’t know Jesus will understand what he was doing when he died on the cross, and that they will understand that his resurrection means victory over sin and death to those who are trusting in him. We also study the Bible so that we keep on learning more and more about God and what it means to be a Christian, and so that, with God’s help, we will live lives that honour him.
